Nisville volunteers team 2018

Registration of volunteers -by July 6th Be part of the biggest volunteer event in south Serbia - join us in celebrating the pre-jubilee 9 th year of Nišville’s volunteer programme! Nišville Jazz Festival will continue its tradition of giving young people the opportunity to give their contribution to one of the most significant cultural events in Serbia all the while enjoying themselves and spending their summer in a productive and fun way.

Nišville presents: The Manhattan Transfer!

The most impactful and the most popular jazz vocal group of all times – The Manhattan Transfer – will make their debut in any of the countries that made up former Yugoslavia on Friday 10 of August, the second day of Nišville 2018. Quartet’s is presently made up of Janis Siegel, Cheryl Bentine, Alan Paul and last but not the least, Trist Curless, who is now a part of the group instead of the founder Tim Hauser, who tragically passed away in 2014. The impressive career of this group, spanning four decades, can be represented most briefly by the following numbers: 29 albums, 10 Grammy awards (20 nominations), the only group which earned 2 Grammy awards in the same year (1981) for best performance in both jazz and pop, and their masterpiece “Vocalese”(1985.) is the second most nominated piece with 19 nominations, after Michael Jacksons’ “Thriller”. In 1998. the group entered “Vocal Group Hall of Fame”, and besides the incredible vocal performance their concerts are always guaranteed to have an amazing show for everyone whether a jazz fan or no. Long time music director of the group is pianist Yaron Gershovsky.

Saxophonist, flutist, composer and arranger Kenny Garrett, a five-time GRAMMY Award-nominee and 2010 GRAMMY Award-winner (as a member of Chick Corea’s and John McLaughlin’s co-led Five Peace Band), and the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from Berklee College of Music in 2011 is going to perform wit his quartet at Nisville 2018, at August 9 the .

The kings of Romani music are performing in honor of Šaban Bajramović!

The “Gipsy Kings” are the closing group for this year’s Nišville!

The world famous music group from France “The Gipsy Kings”, whose frontman is the guitarist Paco Baliardo, will perform on Sunday, the 12th of August, on the final evening of this years “Nišville” jazz festival, continuing the finest tradition of “flamenco – gipsy jazz” expression as a part of their coming world tour.

Renowned American singer and actress Lisa Simone will perform on the 11th of August of this years Nišville jazz festival. Lisa Simone is the daughter of late and great jazz, soul-rhythm, blues singer and fighter for civil rights, Nina Simone. With this performance, Lisa will commemorate her mothers 85th birthday, as well as her entry to the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

Individual night tickets for Nišville 2018. on sale starting the 1st of April! The 35th International Nish Jazz festival „Nišville 2018“ will be held from the 3rd to the 12th of August, with the main festival program spanning four days: 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th of August (2018), within the fortress of Nish. The festival will be hosting a record of 1000 performers which will be presenting 250 different performances throughout 20 different stages and sets.
