DUBIOZA COLLECTIVE at the opening of Nišville!
This year, the internationally most successful band from the former Yugoslavia, Dubioza Collective, celebrates two decades of work. As part of their current world tour, they will perform in Niš on Thursday, August 10th, 2023, in the main program at the opening of the upcoming Nišville Jazz Festival.
The band Dubioza Collective was founded exactly 20 years ago – in 2003, and since their first album titled with the band’s name, released in 2004, to their latest album “Agrikultura,” they have recorded 10 albums, 1 EP, and 1 double live LP.
Cleverly incorporating Balkan folklore into their basic musical expression of a unique crossover combination of reggae, dub, ska, and rock music, Dubioza has quickly gained the status of the most attractive music export project from the Balkans. They have actively performed on almost all meridians over the past two decades. The statistics so far record their successful concerts in over 40 countries, where they have held over a thousand shows.
A few years ago, they broke all previous attendance records by performing in front of 500,000 people at the Polish Woodstock Festival (now Pol’and’Rock). Their memorable and well-attended festival performances worth mentioning include appearances at major international festivals such as Glastonbury (UK), Sziget (HU), Roskilde (DK), Lowlands (NL), Pohoda (SK), Womad (CL), Lollapalooza (DE), SXSW (USA), Boom Town (UK), Electric Castle (RO), and more.
Dubioza Collective last performed in Niš nine years ago at the Plateau of Niš Fortress.
