The World Reggae Sensation MORGAN HERITAGE Comes to Nisville!

Two-time Grammy Award winners to perform in Serbia for the first time!

On Friday, August 15, 2025, the Jamaican roots reggae legends MORGAN HERITAGE will take the stage as part of the Nisville Festival’s main program.
Founded in 1994 by the five children of reggae icon Denroy Morgan — Peter “Peetah” Morgan, Una Morgan, Roy “Gramps” Morgan, Nakamya “Lukes” Morgan, and Memmalatel “Mr. Mojo” Morgan — the band made their breakthrough at Jamaica’s Reggae Sunsplash Festival that same year. Shortly after, they signed with MCA Records and released their debut album, “Miracles”.
Their discography grew with spiritually charged albums like “Protect Us Jah” (1997), “One Calling” (1998), and the groundbreaking “Don’t Haffi Dread” (1999). They further expanded their musical legacy with three compilation albums under “The Morgan Heritage Family & Friends” series, followed by the live album “Live in Europe!” (2000), recorded during their tour.
In 2003, they released their sixth studio album, “Three in One”, along with two live DVDs — “Live in London” and “Live Over Europe 2003”. “Full Circle” (2005) and the critically acclaimed “Mission in Progress” (2008) followed.
After a hiatus where members pursued solo projects, the band reunited in 2012, releasing the single “The Return” and announcing a new album. “Here Come the Kings” (VP Records, 2013) marked their triumphant return, followed by another European tour.
Morgan Heritage’s 2015 album, “Strictly Roots”, earned them their first Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album (2016). They continued their success with “Avrakedabra” (2018), which secured their second Grammy in 2019 — a rare feat in reggae music.
Tragically, in February 2024, the band’s lead singer, Peter “Peetah” Morgan, passed away at the age of 46, leaving a profound void in the reggae world.
Reflecting on their journey, Roy “Gramps” Morgan shared:
“’Strictly Roots,’ our tenth studio album, holds special significance. It was our first independent release under our label, CTBC Music Group, after years with VP Records. VP was incredible to us, but we felt it was time to explore new creative avenues.”
Blending their signature organic roots sound with eclectic influences, “Strictly Roots” pays homage to reggae’s pioneers while forging a bold path for its future. As Peetah Morgan once said:
“We know what our fans want—we know where to take them and how to get them there.”
This is a historic opportunity for reggae fans in Serbia and the region to experience the legendary Morgan Heritage live — for the first time ever in Serbia — at the Nisville Festival on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Niš Fortress Plateau!
