TRADITIONALLY, ON APRIL 30th, "NIŠVILLE JAZZ FESTIVAL" MARKS THE ANNIVERSARY "WORLD JAZZ DAY" WITH CONCERTS IN NIŠ AND BELGRADE!

DOUBLE PROGRAM FOR THE 15th ANNIVERSARY INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY 2026 BY "NIŠVILLE"

This year, the Nišville Jazz Festival will once again traditionally celebrate"World Jazz Day" on Wednesday, April 30th, with a double program as part of the major global celebration by UNESCO and Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz based in New York.

To mark this year’s milestone 15th INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY , a matinee program will be held on Wednesday, April 30th, at 1:00 PM in Niš. The performance will take place on the stage in front of the Nišville Jazz Museum in the Niš Fortress, featuring the local ensemble Nišville Jam Orchestra.In Belgrade, starting at 6:00 PM in front of the "Cvijeta Zuzorić" Art Pavilion in Dorćol, Fusion Storry Triothe Fusion Story Trio will perform. This event will also serve as the formal closing of a photo and video exhibition showcasing the most significant headliners who have performed at Nišville over the past three decades. The exhibition opened several days ago, on Saturday, April 18th, 2026. In addition to 123 photographs, visitors in Belgrade can view two video presentations from previous editions of the Nišville Jazz Festival.

Fifteen years ago, the last day of April was proclaimed International Jazz Day by UNESCO, following an initiative by Herbie Hancock. It has been observed since 2012, based on the principle that over the last 110 years, jazz has become a voice of freedom and tolerance in numerous countries worldwide.

The "Nišville Jazz Festival" responded positively to Herbie Hancock’s invitation 15 years ago and has been an official member of the aforementioned institution ever since, marking this unique holiday of jazz music for all 14 previous years.

Admission is free for all visitors for the program in front of the Jazz Museum in the Fortress (Niš) at 1:00 PM, as well as for the scheduled program in front of the "Cvijeta Zuzorić" Pavilion (Belgrade) at 6:00 PM.
